MAI is a movie directed by Tran Thanh, belonging to the romantic comedy genre. The film has the participation of a cast including: Tuan Tran, Phuong Anh Dao, Tran Thanh, Ngoc Giau, Anh Duc, Viet Anh, Hong Dao, Kha Nhu, Uyen An. On the evening of February 21, MAI movie revenue exceeded the 400 billion VND mark, according to box office monitoring unit Box Office Vietnam. After only 12 days of release, MAI has achieved great success in box office revenue. One day earlier, the producer announced that film sales reached 360 billion VND. This also means that on February 21 alone, artist Tran Thanh's work "pocketed" more than 50 billion VND. Thus, until now, the three works co-invested in, produced and directed by artist Tran Thanh all have revenues of over 400 billion VND, bringing the male artist's total film revenue to more than 1, 200 billion VND.

The movie MAI has a plot revolving around the life of the female protagonist Mai. Mai is a girl born into a family whose father is a gambling addict. At the most beautiful age of a girl, Mai had to live in darkness. Because of this, Mai also has to do everything to make money to survive in a city full of beauty. And then, Mai became a massage therapist. Of course, unlike other colleagues, Mai only "sells her art but not her body". However, this job still caused her to suffer a lot of bad reputation, being considered a prostitute. Her life suddenly turned in a different direction when she met Duong - the neighbor who rented a house opposite Mai's room. In contrast to Mai, Duong is a young man who was born with everything. The reason he had to rent a house was to find inspiration for his work. He lived a dissolute life, was a "lady killer" and was determined to win Mai because of a challenge to his best friend. Mai is a girl with a different personality from all the girls who have spent the night with Duong. She didn't run after Duong to beg for love, but just wanted to stay as far away from him as possible. Because to her, her feelings for men seem to have dulled. She just wants to focus on making a lot of money. At first, perhaps Duong only saw Mai as a new goal to conquer and satisfy his passing pleasure. But the more Mai refused, the more Duong encroached. And then Duong had feelings for Mai without realizing it. In the end, he gave his most sincere love and only wanted to be with Mai for the rest of his life. But because the two people's circumstances are so different, there is always a fear in Mai's heart. For her, happiness is like tomorrow, something that can never come. Her heart now has too many wounds and it cannot bear any more damage.
