A prolific American author, she was particularly well known as her novels of local color, as well as for all her chapters in The Whole Family, a 1908 novel collaboration. Her other includes The Secret of Clan and Louise Imogen Guiney- A Study.
In 2009, the American Library selected 1910 to work of Brown, Golden Baby, to input in the second century of American Fantastic Tales.
