Who is Poet Lucan?
The Roman poet of the Latin Imperial period is best known for his work as Bellum Civile (Civil War). His other works, many of which have not survived to the modern day, include the Catachthonion and the Prosa Oratio in the Octavium Sagittam.
As a result of a feud with the Roman Emperor Nero (his longtime friend and patron), Lucan was banned from publishing the poems.
