Southern poet, scholar, and musician whose best known work is "The Marshes of Glynn," "Sunrise," and "The Song of the Chattahoochee." His other works include films about travel. and a collection of English stories of chivalry.
He is a professor of English at Johns Hopkins University and was also the first flute player at Baltimore, Peabody Orchestra Maryland.
