• When she was still a 10th grader (third C), in 1963, Tan Hoai Da Vu had a poem published in Encyclopedia No. 153 with the title Farewell to the past. selected and published in the Anthology of Modern Vietnamese Poetry (The Writers' Association Publishing House, 1993).
• He became a member of the Hong Son Society in 1965 (renamed the Vietnamese group in 1968).
• In 1969, he was vice-chairman of the Hue Inter-Faculty Student Council, then chairman of the Student Representative Board of Hue University of Pedagogy. During this time, he participated in the student-student struggle movement in Hue city, besides that he also published poetry in many magazines and anthologies. Before 1975, his name was often mentioned in works on patriotic poetry in Southern cities.
• He used to teach at Tran Cao Van High School – Tam Ky, then he worked as the Principal of Quang Dien - Thua Thien-Hue High School.
• He was appointed Principal of Hue National School from April 1, 1975.
• In 1978, he transferred to the Department of Culture and Information of Quang Nam province, in charge of researching folklore.
