Al Franken real name Alan Stuart "Al" Franken, is an American politician. He is also known as an actor, comedian and he is also a writer. He is the United States Senator of the state Minnesota. He was most famous in the 1970s and 1980s for appearing on Saturday Night Live shows and through his literary work. After years of working in the fields of art and literature, he is now a liberal politician. In 2008 he was elected to the US Senate, and defeated the head of the Republican party, Senator Coleman. Al Franken is a member of the Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party for short, DFL, a branch of the Democratic Party.
Al Franken was officially inaugurated in the United States Senate on July 7, 2009. In 2014 he was re-elected to this position.
