Irish politician, founder of the Democratic Party and the Socialist Labor Party and one of the architects of the peace process in Northern Ireland. He is the only person to have received all three major peace awards: The Nobel Peace Prize, the Martin Luther King Prize, and the Gandhi Peace Prize Pope Benedict XVI made him a Knight Commander of the Grand Order of Pope St. Gregory in 2012.
