Võ Thị Kim Thoa năm 1998 là tay chuyền 2 xuất sắc trong đội tuyển bóng chuyền Việt Nam. Hiện cô đang thi đấu cho câu lạc bộ bóng chuyền nữ VTV Bình Điền Long An. Cô từng 2 năm đạt danh hiệu cá nhân là VĐV chuyền hai nữ xuất sắc nhất ở giải vô địch quốc gia 2022 và 2023.
Võ Thị Kim Thoa bén duyên với bóng chuyền từ năm học cấp 3. Khi thấy cô sở hữu chiều cao lý tưởng nên các thầy cô đã hướng cho cô đến với bóng chuyền và làm quen với bộ môn này. Năm 2009 có các thầy ở trường năng khiếu thể dục thể thao tỉnh Long An đi tuyển và cô đã được thầy cô giới thiệu kiểm tra thể lực và kỳ sát hạch cô đã vượt qua và sự nghiệp bóng chuyền đến với Kim Thoa thật là một cái duyên.
Sau khi được tuyển chọn giống như các vận động viên khác Kim Thoa được làm quen một thời gian với trái bóng, với các vị trí chuyên môn cuối cùng kiểm tra sát hạch để chọn vị trí phù hợp và cô đã được chọn cho vị trí chuyền hai. Sau quãng thời gian tập luyện và thi đấu tuyến trẻ, với khả năng chuyên môn tốt, Võ Thị Kim Thoa đã được ban huấn luyện tuyến một đội nữ VTV Bình Điền Long An tăng cường vào năm 2016. Với khả năng chơi bóng linh hoạt thông minh cùng với sự cố gắng nỗ lực luyện tập mỗi ngày đã giúp cô giành được vị trí thi đấu chính thức trong đội tuyển bóng chuyền Việt Nam.
Mới đầu đến với đội tuyển quốc gia Kim Thoa cũng gặp rất nhiều bỡ ngỡ nhưng mình được các đàn chị, trong đó có chị Ngọc Hoa, hướng dẫn chỉ bảo đã giúp cô có thêm tự tin và thi đấu tốt dần qua mỗi trận. 3 năm trở lại đây cô trưởng thành hơn thi đấu tốt hơn. Năm 2021, trong màu áo CLB. Kim Thoa thi đấu tuyệt hay tại Cúp bóng chuyền Hoa Lư - Bình Điền và giành giải chuyền hai xuất sắc nhất Cúp Hùng Vương 2021. Năm 2022, năm 2023 khi thi đấu quốc gia cô được bầu chọn là cầu thủ chuyền hai xuất sắc nhất.
Mới đây, đội trưởng Võ Thị Kim Thoa cùng với các thành viên trong VTV Bình Điền Long An đã có màn thể hiện xuất sắc trong buổi chung kết giải bóng chuyền vô địch quốc gia và giành chức vô địch. Chức vô địch mùa giải năm nay là kết quả ý nghĩa với Kim Thoa cùng đồng đội.
