Who is The scientist Charles Babbage?
Charles Babbage is a British mathematician, mechanical engineer, philosopher and inventor. He was a scientist who first laid the foundation for the world's computer technology. He was the one who invented the first mechanical calculator. With knowledge in many fields, he is considered a genius, a person with preeminent talent for his inventions in the century he lived. Currently, part of Babbage's unfinished engine is on display at the Science Museum in London, England.
Scientist Charles Babbage attended Cambridge University from October 1810. During this time he taught himself and studied mathematics through mathematicians Robert Woodhouse, Marie Agnesi and Joseph Louis Lagrange. But then he got bored with the standard math program at Cambridge University. In 1812 Babbage and scientists John Herschel, George Peacock and some others founded the Union analysis association. He also joined a number of other organizations such as The Ghost Club, an organization that researches supernatural phenomena, and the Extractors Club. Also in 1812 Charles moved to Peterhouse, Cambridge, he became the leading mathematician there, but he did not receive any honorary degree.
Scientist Charles Babbage lived and worked for more than 40 years at Dorset Street, Marylebone. He died on October 18, 1871. His body was buried at Kensal Green Cemetery in England. After Charles Babbage died, his name was mentioned in the steampunk. Charles Babbage's films and novels include: As a Great Thinker in the video game "Civilization Revolutio", in the 2008 short "Babbage", and in "The Thrilling Adventures of Lovelace and Babbage" by Sydney Padua.

Family life info

Charles Babbage was one of four children born to Benjamin Babbage and Betsy Plumleigh Teape. His father and a partner, William Praed, founded Praed's & Co. in Fleet Street, London, in 1801.
July 25, 1814 Charles married Georgiana Whitmore at St. Michael in Teignmouth, Devon. He and his wife have eight children, Benjamin Herschel Babbage; Charles Whitmore Babbage; Georgiana Whitmore Babbage; Edward Stewart Babbage; Francis Moore Babbage; Dugald Bromhead (Bromheald? ) Babbage; (Maj-Gen) Henry Prevost Babbage; Alexander Forbes Babbage. But only his four children survived: Benjamin Herschel, Dugald Bromhead, Henry Prevost and Georgiana Whitmore.
Charles' wife died in Worcester on September 1, 1827, the same year as Charles' father and two children. His son Charles and newborn son Alexander.
