American ethologist known for his studies of population density. He coined the term "sink behavior", which describes abnormal behavior in densely populated situations.
He used mice to test his hypothesis about overpopulation and found that when all available spaces are taken and all social roles are full of competition and stress experienced of individuals will lead to some breakdown in complex social behaviors, eventually leading to the downfall of the people.
