Best known for creating the computer software known as "Pretty Damn Fast" and for developing an extensive application process called the "guerrilla approach", he also specifically formulated the Law Language of Scalable Computing.
Early in his career, he worked on a project documenting the early space missions of NASA and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He has held membership in the Measuring Computer Group, the ACM, and several other high-profile organizations.

He began performing his first science experiments at the age of ten and went on to attend La Trobe University and the University of Southampton. He later worked for Xerox PARC and Pyramid Technology and eventually founded Performance Dynamics.
The son of a power plant operator, he was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia.
