Tran Van Dang is also known as Mr. Sang. He is a martyr, a hero of the people's armed forces.
Tran Van Dang was born into a poor peasant family. When he was young, his father passed away. Growing up, he had to follow his uncle to Saigon to earn a living. His uncle was a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam who was secretly operating in the inner city, so he was informed about revolutionary ideas.
In March 1964, he was brought in by his uncle to join the party. He joined the inner city armed forces of the Saigon Special Forces.
After a period of study and political and military trials in Cu Chi, he was assigned the important task of using mines to throw at his superiors. entered the American Officers' Club at 3 Vo Tanh Street, Tan Binh District, Saigon.
On March 20, 1965, while on duty, the enemy stormed in and arrested him.
On April 9, 1965, Tran Van Dang was sentenced to death at a special trial opened by the US army.
On June 22, 1965, he was dragged to the firing squad, even though he knew that death was near, he was still brave and fearless, at that time he was only 23 years old.
