Dang Thi Hong is considered the best second pass in the history of Vietnamese volleyball. Dang Thi Hong has smart play, the ability to move flexibly, pass the ball quickly and accurately, and mischievously throw the ball away. In 2006, Dang Thi Hong overcame many strong opponents to win the title of the best second pass at the VTV Cup.
Dang Thi Hong started her career with the Hanoi Post Volleyball team. When the team announced the dissolution, Dang Thi Hong was faced with two options: one is to become an employee of the Postal Service, the other is to go and find a new stop. Dang Thi Hong decided to join the new team.
In 2009, Dang Thi Hong was invited by the Petroleum Culture and Sports Joint Stock Company to join the team. Without a women's team, Dang Thi Hong was arranged as an assistant for the men's team and then moved to play for two clubs Vietsovpetro and Petroleum Pacific on loan. In 2009, Dang Thi Hong and her teammates Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa, Pham Thi Kim Hue, Pham Thi Yen... attended the Asian Championships in Hanoi and the SEA Games in Laos. This is Dang Thi Hong's last international tournament.
In 2014, Dang Thi Hong was invited to coach Hanoi's gifted team. Dang Thi Hong continues her passion for the ball in a new role.

In 1994, the Hanoi Post volleyball team announced the recruitment of athletes on television. Dang Thi Hong's mother brought her daughter to audition. Every day, Dang Thi Hong has to cycle dozens of kilometers to gather in Hanoi to practice. At first, Dang Thi Hong practiced in the attacking position, then the Chinese coach arranged to try in the second pass position. Possessing qualities and efforts, Dang Thi Hong quickly asserted herself in the club colors as well as the national team.
Dang Thi Hong was born into a family that loves sports. Grandfather (Mr. Dang The Chen) was a famous volleyball player in the North in the 1950s and 60s. Dang Thi Hong's father was a famous beater when he was in the army.
In 2007, Dang Thi Hong married Nguyen Van Hai, a fellow student, a fellow student, and a compatriot. Dang Thi Hong's husband is a police officer.
