QQ provides services that provide online social games, music, shopping, microblogging, movies, group chat and voice software. It is known that QQ. com ranks 3rd in China and 39th globally in terms of traffic, 1st in News and Media Publishers (In China). Owns a total of over 900 million visits per month and the average visit time is 3 minutes 26 seconds. Among them, up to 65.32 % are male, the remaining 34.68% are female. Tencent QQ was first released in China in February 1999 as OICQ ("Open ICQ")
Following the threat of a trademark infringement lawsuit by AOL owned ICQ, the product name was changed to QQ (with "Q" and "QQ" used to refer to "cute").
The official client is available on Microsoft Windows and a public beta has been released for Mac OS X version 10.4.9 or later.
On July 31, 2008, Tencent released an official client for Linux, but the application is not yet compatible with the version. Windows and it doesn't have voice chat capabilities.
To compete with other instant chat software, like Windows Live Messenger, Tencent released Tencent Messenger, aimed at businesses .
