Who is Zitherist Hai Phuong?
Hai Phuong, born Nguyen Hai Phuong, is a Vietnamese zither artist. She is currently a lecturer at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music.
Artist Hai Phuong was born in a family with a traditional music tradition, when she was 5 years old, she was taught by her mother, teacher Pham Thuy Hoan. The National School of Music teaches about the zither. When she was 7 years old in 1976, she studied the zither at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, the first course. In pedagogy in performing ethnic musical instruments, Hai Phuong was one of the first two members of the Conservatory.
In 1992 Labor Culture Palace Ho Chi Minh City held the first Young Talent Competition, artist Hai Phuong won the first prize, now she is known by music lovers as a " The star of the zither". She went to Paris in 1993 with Professor Tran Van Khe to make the music disc La Music Hier et Aujourd 'Hui. Artist Hai Phuong has performed at festivals and major music events: the 1993 Korean Expo; Vietnam Festival in Japan 2001; 2000 Asian Music Festival; performed with the Tokyo Orchestra... Thanks to this, the Vietnamese zither was known in over 20 countries.
In 1981 because of its passion for ethnic music, with the aim of preserving, developing, and updating it. Vietnamese folk music artist Hai Phuong with his mother and sister, artist Hai Yen, founded the Homeland Singing Club.
