Who is Band I.o.i?
I. O.I (short for "Ideal Of Idol") is an 11-member girl group formed after the success of the first season of "Produce 101". The 11 girls of I.O.I have excellently surpassed 90 other contestants to have a debut year in the Mnet girl group project. Despite receiving a lot of support, I. O.I is just a project group with limited working time. Group I.O.I is expected to work for about 10 months, after which the members will return to their official management companies. It's rare for a rookie girl group to receive as much love and support from fans as I. O.I. Since their debut, I. O.I has released 2 mini-albums and a single, all of which have achieved admirable results. Together in a short time but also experienced a full range of emotions.
I. O.I officially debuted on May 4, 2016 with the mini album "Chrysalis" and the title song "Dream Girls". On August 9, 2016, I. O.I's subgroup consisting of 7 members released the single album "Whatta man" with the title song "Whatta Man". This song brought the group 5 trophies from Korean music shows.
On October 17, 2016, 11 members of group I.O.I returned with the 2nd mini album "Miss me?" with the title song "Very very very". IOI dominated online music charts and won 3 trophies from Korean music shows.
January 2017, IOI released an emotional ballad for fans called "Downpour" " climbed to first place on many Korean music charts.
January 20-22, 2017, I. O.I held a concert at Jang Chung Gymnasium, Seoul before officially disbanding. Concert "Time Slip - I. O.I" took place in 3 nights. After this concert, 11 members of I.O.I all went home after making a big breakthrough, exploding the Korean music market. I. O.I ended all activities on January 30, 2017. The girls of I.O.I created "I.O.I day" to meet every year and promised the audience after 5 years I.O.I will return. The departure of I. O.I left many regrets for both fans and insiders.
