In 1960, she changed her stage name to Tina Turner when she returned. became a member of the musical group Ike & Tina Turner Revue. The group then released many successful singles such as "River Deep – Mountain High" (1966), "A Fool in Love", "Proud Mary" (1971) and "Nutbush City Limits" (1973), a songs written by herself. In her memoir "I, Tina" (published in 1986), the female artist revealed serious cases of domestic violence between herself and Ike Trevor Turner, and decided to divorce in 1978.
After her divorce, she began rebuilding her career through live performances. In the early 1980s, Tina Turner made several musical debuts, beginning with the single "Let's Stay Together" in 1983 and then a fifth solo album titled "Private Dancer" in 1984. What's Love Got to Do with It" on this album has won 3 Grammy Awards, including "Record of the Year". She went on to release other albums such as "Break Every Rule" in 1986 and "Foreign Affair" in 1989, both of which were certified Platinum. The life of the legendary Tina Turner has been recreated in the hit biopic "What's Love Got to Do with It" and the Broadway musical "Tina - The Tina Turner Musical". Biography "What's Love Got to Do With It" is based on the content of her autobiography "I, Tina: My Life Story". The film has the participation of Angela Bassett as Tina, Laurence Fishburne as Ike, and earned both Academy Award nominations. The film's total gross exceeds $60 million worldwide. In 2016, she was diagnosed with bowel cancer. In 2017, she underwent a kidney transplant.
