Composer Ha Chieu was exposed to music from a young age and studied methodically.
He became a banjoline and mandoline musician in 1945 in the children's art troupe to save the national zone 9.
He attended Nguyen Van To Resistance High School in 1948.
In 1950 he transferred to the police force.
In 1954 he moved to Saigon and met Ha Huy Ha to apply for a job and was given a copy of the reformed script and poetry. From there he began to practice writing odd songs.
In 1955, he met Luong Ke Nghiep - composer Hoa Phuong and received a suggestion that the two of them write cai luong together. The first play that was premiered by Ha Chieu - Hoa Phuong was the play For the homeland followed by After the whirlwind but they were not very successful.
In 1957, after the great success of the play When the cherry blossoms bloom, the name Ha Chieu - Hoa Phuong became more known.
In 1960, the pair of composers Ha Chieu - Hoa Phuong collaborated with Thanh Minh - Thanh Nga troupe.
In 1964, Mr. 2 moved to collaborate with Da Ly Huong troupe.
Ha Chieu died on May 13, 2003 at Ho Chi Minh City.
