Who is Composer Alfredo Keil?
Composed the Portuguese national anthem, "One Portuguesa," in 1891, although it was not adopted until four years after his death. The lyrics were composed by poet and playwright Henrique Lopes de Mendonça.
His most famous operas include "D. Branca" from 1883, "Irene" from 1893, and "Serrana" from 1899, which was at one time considered the greatest Portuguese opera Dental.
