Who is Composer Carlos Chavez?
Remembered to set up and lead the Mexican Symphonic Orchestra, this famous conductor also had a successful career as a composer, producing a popular heavy percussion piece called Sinfonia India. Also a journalist, he wrote for nearly forty years for the newspaper El Universal Mexico City.
After the Mexican Revolution, he composed a number of ballet and Aztec Mexican-themed works, including El Fuego nuevo.
