Who is Composer Dzung Chinh?
Dzung Chinh's real name is Nguyen Ba Chinh (also some documents say Nguyen Van Chinh) is a golden musician, a lieutenant in the Vietnamese army at that time.
Composer Dzung Chinh started composing when he was still in university. His music "The hills of myrtle flowers" is said to be a successful composition and is a song associated with his name. In 1965, musician Dzung Chinh enlisted for the military service. During the fighting, musician Dzung Chinh was hit by a bullet, he was taken by an American helicopter to the Military Hospital Phan Thiet. But because the wound was too severe, musician Dzung Chinh did not survive. He died on March 1, 1969, at the age of 29. After his death, Dzung Chinh was promoted to lieutenant and was brought back to his hometown in Nha Trang for burial.

In 1965, Dzung Chinh began to serve in the army. He attended and graduated from High School in Nha Trang with a full Baccalaureate diploma. Then studied at the University of Law in Saigon.
At the end of 1966, Dzung Chinh was sent to study a special officer course in Nha Trang. In 1967 Dzung Chinh graduated with the rank of Warrant Officer.
After graduating, Dzung Chinh applied to serve in the 44th Regiment stationed at Song Mao, Hai Ninh, Binh Thuan, to be close to his hometown. He was assigned to be the platoon leader of the Combat Platoon of Company 1, Battalion 2 (at this time the company captain was Lieutenant Nguyen Van Chanh and the battalion commander was Captain Ngo Van Xuan).
In mid-1968, Dzung Chinh was promoted to Second Lieutenant. After that, he was assigned to the Political Warfare Block of the Regiment Headquarters to serve music here.
