After the August Revolution, musician Hoang Thi Tho joined the Art troupe Quang Tri as a theater actress. .
In December 1946, he participated in propaganda work with musician Tran Hoan in Hue. After the fall of Hue, he returned to Vinh with the poet Luu Trong Lu.
In May 1947, he started working as a newspaper, writing articles, becoming a reporter and editor for Viet Minh's daily newspaper Cuu Quoc.
In September 1948, he returned to Hue, continuing to complete his high school program at Khai Dinh School (later moved to Ha Tinh and renamed it Truong Huynh Thuc Khang).
In October 1950, after graduating from the baccalaureate, musician Hoang Thi Tho attended university at the Inter-District 3 and 4 College Preparatory School at Thanh Hoa, according to the Faculty of Literature and Philosophy.
At the end of 1952, he was arrested by the French while visiting his family, in 1954 he was released.
In 1957, musician Hoang Thi Tho entered Saigon and began organizing concerts at Thong Nhat Theater in Saigon.
In 1961, he founded the Vietnam Culture and Arts Union with the participation of more than 100 famous artists. The troupe toured many Asian countries, as well as many cities around the world.
In 1967, he continued to establish Maxim's Van Nghe Doan, consisting of 70 actors, dancers, musical theater actors, and organized special musical and dance programs at Maxim restaurant.

During the resistance war, he had a romantic relationship with his daughter Truong Tan Nhan, a friend from the same school. Later, when he left the resistance and returned to the city and could not return, Mrs. Tan Nhan was pregnant at that time.
