The groundbreaking versatility as a composer, arranger, musician and television writer came in 1964 with the Broadway musical Baker Street, working with lifelong songwriting partner Marian Grudeff. He was a story editor for The Love Boat from 1977 to 1980 and wrote and produced The Jacksons.
At the age of 84, much after his retirement, he auditioned to be out for the 9th season of Got Talent of America as a comedian and pianist.
