The high school teacher turned pop singer was a finalist on Season 9. He was a Top 48 Pick on the second season of American Idol. He put out a 2012 album called Colt Square Sessions, a 2013 effort titled Battlefield America and a 2015 EP called Fall Again.
As a college student, he was on a plane trip to go perform in a choir performance that took a tragic turn. The plane crashed, killing 11 people, including the two brothers he was traveling with. He received a scholarship to college for the choir.
