Who is Critical realist writer Nguyen Cong Hoan?
Nguyen Cong Hoan is a typical writer of critical realist literature in Vietnam. During his writing career, he left behind more than 200 short stories, nearly 30 long stories and many literary essays.
Writer Nguyen Cong Hoan started composing when he was not yet 20 years old. His first work called "Kien Hong Nhan" was written in 1920. This work was written by Tan Da prostitute and published in 1923.
In 1927, he wrote the book Kep Tu Ben, and in 1935 the work was published. After this work was known to the public, it immediately caused a stir in the literature, and was the subject of debate of two artistic views at that time.
From 1945-1950, writer Nguyen Cong Hoan participated in writing articles for newspapers such as: Military Studies newspaper, People's Education newspaper. He is also the editor of textbooks and Vietnamese history books, used for 9th graders.
After 1954, Nguyen Cong Hoan assumed the position of Chairman of the first Vietnam Writers Association from 1957-1958. He is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Writers' Association, a member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts, and the chairman of the weekly Van newspaper (the predecessor of the Van Nghe newspaper).
June 6, 1977, writer Nguyen Cong Hoan passed away.

- In 1936, the long story "Turn off the fire of heart" by writer Nguyen Cong Hoan was famous author Tran Huu Trang adapted into a famous Cai Luong play Lan and Diep.
- Writer Nguyen Cong Hoan is one of the Vietnamese characters present in the Soviet Encyclopedia since the 1960s.
- His name was later named for streets such as Nguyen Cong Hoan street in Hanoi, the section between Ngoc Khanh and Nguyen Chi Thanh streets. In Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh has a street named after Nguyen Cong Hoan in Bac Ly ward. His name is named after Nguyen Cong Hoan High School at Hung Yen.

Writer Nguyen Cong Hoan was born into a family of Confucian officials. From a young age, he memorized many verses, couplets and anecdotes with satirical, satirical, and manipulative qualities.
In 1926, he graduated from the pedagogical college. He taught in many provinces such as = Hai Duong, Lao Cai, Nam Định...
Writer Nguyen Cong Hoan used to join the National Guard, worked as an editor of the National Guard newspaper, was the director of the Military Culture School, and the director and editor of the Military Academy newspaper.
In 1948, he was appointed joined the Communist Party of Vietnam.

He was born in a family of 4 brothers, he is the eldest. His brothers are all patriots and revolutionary activists and have held important positions. Including his younger brother, Nguyen Cong Mieu, or Le Van Luong - Member of the Politburo.
