Tan Da's real name is Nguyen Khac Hieu, he is a famous Vietnamese poet, writer and playwright. The pseudonym Tan Da is a combination of Tan Vien mountain and Da river, his hometown.
In the early 20th century, the poet Tan Da became prominent with his liberal and aggressive poetic style in many places. field. He was considered a bright and unique star in the poetic world of that time. In addition to composing poetry, Tan Da is also good at translating Tang poetry into hexagonal poetry and is known as the best translator of Tang poetry into Vietnamese.
In 1915, Tan Da's collection of poems "Block of love children I" was published. The work immediately became a big hit. After this work, he continuously released many other works such as: the poem "Dream of children" (printed in 1917) and a number of plays: "Mermaid", "Tay Thi", "Duong Quy Phi". , "Thien Thai" (first performed in 1916 at Hai Phong)...

In 1922, Tan Da established the "Tan Da letter whore" (later changed to "Tan Da letter bureau"). On June 7, 1939, poet Tan Da died after fighting with liver disease. His body was interred at Quang Thien cemetery, Hanoi.

He was born into a family with a noble lineage, with a scholarly tradition. His ancestors had many generations of mandarins under the Le dynasty. His father, Nguyen Danh Ke, passed the bachelor's exam, worked as an official for the Nguyen Dynasty to the position of Ngu Su in the Kinh, famous for being a talented writer in the court. Mr. Nguyen Danh Ke married his step-wife Luu Thi Hien, whose stage name Nhu Thi Nhiem was a talented singer in Nam Dinh, giving birth to the youngest son, Tan Da.
His father died when he was only 3 years old. family life becomes poor. Tan Da's mother Nghiem, because of disagreement with her husband's family, left to work as a singer, and eight years later his sister also followed her mother to do that profession. Tan Da was raised and educated by Mr. Nguyen Tai Tich, his biological brother (with the same father). In 1915, Tan Da married Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tung and gave birth to 7 children, the son Nguyen Manh Huong tri district in Ha Dong province, became brothers with writer Phan Khoi. Mr. Huong is the father of writer Nguyen Tien Lang.
