Le Duy Loan is a Vietnamese-American engineer. She is the first Asian and the only woman selected to be on the technical leadership board for global technology firm Texas Instruments. Ms. Le Duy Loan was named in the list of "20 best women in Houston in the field of engineering". She was inducted into the Hall of Fame by Women in Technology International (WITI), National Technologist of the Year. She was also the first woman to be invited to the Board of Directors of National Instruments, a leading company in machine testing. She founded Sunflower Mission, a non-governmental charity organization, contributing to building more than 100 classrooms in remote districts of Kien Giang province, An Giang, Dong Thap, Ben Tre, Phu Yen. Le Duy Loan is also known as one of the 10 best female speakers in the United States and one of the "famous women in engineering in the world". She was invited to give presentations at many universities as well as large companies in many countries to share her working and leadership experiences. In 30 years of work, Duy Loan has 22 patents. It is the enthusiasm for work as well as those inventions that are clear evidence to confirm one thing that not only men, women can also be good at electronics.

Young / Before famous

Engineer Le Duy Loan was born in Vietnam and came to the US in 1975 when he was 12 years old. Despite facing many difficulties to adapt to a new life in a foreign country, this Vietnamese-born female student quickly achieved impressive results in her studies. In 1979, Duy Loan became the valedictorian of a group of 335 high school graduates at Alief Hastings School in Texas, according to the US National Science Foundation Honors. In 1982, at the age of 19, Duy Loan graduated with honors from the University of Texas. In the same year, she officially became a memory design engineer of Texas Instruments (TI), a world leader in technology and in the list of the 100 largest global companies voted by Fortune magazine. In 1989, she was promoted to TI project design manager and received a master's degree in business administration from the University of Houston, Texas.
In 1993, Duy Loan became a senior member of the Technical Council of TI Group. This female engineer has continuously contributed to TI's technological achievements with more than 20 patents. She also plays a leadership role in the 3G technology development program that helps TI stay at the forefront of digital signal processing technology.
In 2002, engineer Duy Loan was officially appointed to the Board of Directors of TI and held the position of Vice President in charge of technology. During TI's 80-year history, engineer Duy Loan is the first Asian-American and also the first woman on the Board of Directors of this corporation. The female engineer was also honored with many awards such as the Anita Borg Institute Leadership Vision Award. Not only that, she is also a founding member of the Sunflower Vision Fund specializing in educational aid to Vietnam.
