Who is Journalist Bill Conlin?
William T. Conlin, Jr. is an American sports journalist who has devoted nearly 50 years of his life to journalism for the Philadelphia Daily News. Before that, Conlin worked at the Philadelphia Bulletin, where he was a member of the American Writers' Baseball Association. Conlin received the JG Taylor Spink Award in 2011.
On January 9, 2014, Conlin passed away after battling many illnesses such as diabetes, intestinal infection, chronic obstructive disease. lungs at Largo Medical Center in Largo, Florida.

Young / Before famous

Conlin grew up in New York City's Brooklyn. As a student, he was the school's top swimmer. He later received an athletic scholarship from the Peekskill Military Academy; in 1950 he became a lifeguard and was inducted into the Hall of Fame rowing team in 1983. Before graduating from Temple University in 1961 he was also a newspaper editor for The Temple. University News, then he began writing for the Philadelphia Evening Bulletin in June 1960 for the evening news. He received the Sword Award for his writings on Temple University. By 1965, he had become a sports reporter for the Philadelphia Daily News and appeared on more than 300 editions of ESPN's The Sports Reporters. In 2009, he was inducted into the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame
In 2009, he was accused by his niece of child abuse charges that several years earlier had prompted Conlin's resignation. from his position at the Philadelphia Daily News.
