Phan Huy Le from a young age has inherited the tradition of studiousness of his family and homeland; in 1952, he started to study pre-university in Thanh Hoa. As a person with a natural aptitude and passion for science, he was exposed to many other intellectuals in society, so he chose Math and Physics to be his subject for the future of his career.
Then, there were two teachers who were GS. Tran Van Giau and GS. Dao Duy Anh discovered the historical talent in him, so he was sent to study in the history-geography department of Hanoi National University of Education.
After graduating, he was admitted to the Department of History and Geography. immediately accepted into the Department of Ancient and Medieval Vietnamese History of the Faculty of History and worked as an assistant to Prof. Dao Duy Anh. During his time as a teaching assistant, he was assigned to write lectures and take on the work of real experts. After 2 years, even though he was only 24 years old, he became the main dean in the system of Vietnamese social sciences at the Institute of History.
After that, he spent a lot of time researching about historical truths. history along with his research on the resistance wars against foreign invaders and major battles in history and became typical military historical works.
From 1988 until now, he has held office. President of the Vietnam Historical Association and founder of the Center for Cooperation in Vietnam Studies of the University of Vietnam, now the Institute of Vietnamese Studies and Development Sciences. Until 1995, he was the founder of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Hanoi National University.
From 2004 to 2009, he was the Chairman of the Scientific Council. and Training for the Center for Vietnamese Studies and Cultural Exchange, now the Institute of Vietnamese Studies and Development Sciences
In May 2011, he was elected as a foreign correspondent of the Academy of Literature and Arts. French American Literature.

Professor Phan Huy Le was born into a family of famous academics with great cultural celebrities such as Phan Huy Can, Phan Huy Ich, Phan Huy Thuc, Phan Huy Vinh, Phan Huy Chu, Cao Xuan Duc, Cao Xuan Tieu, Cao Xuan Huy... Professor's father, Phan Huy Tung, was a doctor of Confucianism. He was a Doctor of Confucianism, and he was awarded a Doctor of Science in Quy Suu in 1913.
