Rico Hizon is the first Filipino native to become an official broadcaster working for both the world's most prestigious television news networks, BBC World New and CNBC Asia. He is the presenter for Newsday and Business Report Asia - a business news program produced by the BBC and broadcast to more than 400 million households worldwide during peak hours. In 2009, he became the youngest person in the history of the La Sallian Achievement Award for Global Journalism.

He graduated from La Salle De University with a major in communication and business. After earning a degree in communication arts and business at La Salle De University, Hizon began teaching radio, television and broadcasting courses at the University. He then graduated with a doctorate from the Northeastern University of the Philippines. It can be said that Hizon's television career began in 1988 at GMA Network Manila, where he was responsible for writing articles on the market, capital investment, banking, real estate and the development of companies. He is the host of economic daily programs such as Business Today, GMA News Live and Stock Market Live from Philippine stock exchanges.
In April 1995, Hizon joined CNBC based in Hong Kong, there he became anchor for the editor of morning programs such as CNBC Today, Squawk Box, Market Watch and Power Lunch.
In 2002, Hizon joined BBC World News and was responsible for the editions. Economic and financial news daily from Monday to Friday in the live broadcasts Asia Business Report and Asia Today June 2011 Hizon collaborated with BBC Newsday and Babita Sharma in London. He is also an Asia business reporter who regularly appears on BBC World Business Report
