Sethi graduated with honors in 1992 from Smith College with a BA in sociology and gender studies. In 2005, she was awarded a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Graduate School Presidio, San Francisco and graduated from the Hoffman Institute.
She began her media career in 1993 as a a documentary producer for MTV News. In 1994, she officially became a reporter and producer for MTV Networks Asia News, and then became a presenter in 1995. She is also the founder and news manager of the news division for MTV Networks Asia News. MTV India in 1996 produced broadcast news programs. In 1997, she separated and founded her own television production company, SHE TV.
In 1999, she returned to the United States and worked for Oxygen Media as a consultant for groups. In business and activity, she became the editor and host of the public television program "Ethical Markets". She is also a contributing editor for Mother Earth News and founder of the website "Metamorphose"
Sethi also founded, organizes, and oversees all video and audio content as executive production output for TreeHugger. com the largest environmental site on the Internet. Under her management, Treehugger won the 2006 Vloggie for Best Vlog.
Sethi is a technical contributor and editor-in-chief of the "Quest: The Science of Sustainability" series.
