Literator Kim Thuy

Kim Thuy, real name Nguyen An Tinh is a Vietnamese-Canadian writer. She won the Prix du Gouverneur général of Canada in 2010 for her work "Ru". Kim Thuy was born in Saigon. In 1979, when she was 10 years old, she and her family crossed the border by sea to Malaysia as a refugee and then settled in Canada. Her journey is also the subject of the novel Ru with 140 pages in French, published in 2009. In 2010 this work won the Canadian literary prize. It is a literary work that has made a significant impression on the Vietnamese-Canadian community in the Canadian literary forum. The author believes that the book Ru is also controversial in Vietnam because it mentions the topic of boat people fleeing Vietnam after the North was liberated.

In 2018, author Kim Thuy worked for the village. There was a stir in the arts when she appeared in the list of four finalists for the new Literature Prize, set up to replace the postponed Nobel Prize in Literature.
