Born in Hanoi, but at the age of 9, artist Thanh Duong's family moved to Saigon. After graduating from College of Culture and Arts Khanh Hoa, he returned to work at Khanh Hoa youth theater. In 1989, he and his family moved to Hanoi. After that, he returned to work at the Vietnam Youth Drama Theater until now.
Although he is a native of Hanoi, artist Thanh Duong's face is not endowed with the flamboyant appearance of a guy from the capital. Sometimes in movies or on stage, his small figure and funny face make viewers smile. After acting in many dramas and comedies, directors have discovered that artist Thanh Duong is very suitable for roles with many angles and comedic roles.
Few people know that, not only is he a popular actor, he is also a famous person in the Vietnamese dance world. In the late 1980s, he won the National Gold Award in dance twice. Some people joked that because he knew how to dance, he got married. In 1989, after moving to Hanoi to live. Because of his passion for acting, he worked at the Tuoi Tre Drama Theater and accepted a job as a dance instructor at several clubs. One day, he accepted to teach a small group of director Quoc Tuan, including Kim Anh. Artists Thanh Duong and Kim Anh met each other by chance and fell in love without realizing it. After marrying Kim Anh, he also retired from his career as a dancer so that his wife could rest assured and focus on her work at the Youth Theater. The two have overcome many difficulties and challenges together, but the family still remains as happy as in the beginning.
