Who is Novelist William Muir?
Remembered for his fellowship in the fields of Islam and near and far Eastern studies, Muir was also known for serving as an imperial administrator and governor in Bengal and British India. His most famous publications include the Koran: Its Composition and Teaching; Chronicle of the Early Caliphate; and The Life of Mahomet.
One of his earliest works, The Life of Mahomet, was controversial for criticism of Islam.
