Father John Baotixita (JB. ) Nguyen Sang real name is Nguyen Tan Sang, he is known as the priest participating in the most typical charity activities of My Tho diocese with his own voice.
Since childhood. Father JB Nguyen Sang loved music, so most of the musical performances at schools and churches have the presence of this priest. At the age of 10, Father JB Nguyen Sang sang for the radio station in his home country and was a "child" singer of the Church of the Sacred Heart of Go Cong.
After graduating from high school at Truong Dinh Go School Public in 1991, Father JB Nguyen Sang continued to major in music at Hanoi University of Culture in the second branch in Saigon.
In the summer of 1994 on a bicycle tour from Go Cong to Quang Ngai, Nguyen Tan Sang arrived. visited the Qui Nhon leper camp where he did charity work during the tour with everyone in the group. It was during this time when he was in direct contact with the sick and poor that he decided to choose the ideal of living to serve others right after the tour group returned.
In 1995, he took the exam. He entered the seminary class of the diocese of My Tho and then took the entrance exam to St. Joseph Saigon Seminary in 1997. On June 27, 2002, he became a deacon at St. Joseph Saigon Seminary and became a priest at St. Joseph's Seminary in Saigon. My Tho Cathedral on December 7, 2005.
After becoming a priest, JB. Nguyen Sang was sent by the Bishop to be the Vice Father for Ba Giong Church, Cho Bung Church, and Tan Hiep Church in My Tho Diocese.
In 2008, JB. Nguyen Sang was appointed Pastor of Tan Hiep Church and then Pastor of Ba Giong Church in 2011.
With his inspiring voice, until now JB. Nguyen Sang has carried out the charity program Singing for the poor which is supported by many people along with releasing many albums including many songs that are widely released on online music websites. After more than 6 years of hard work doing charity with his singing, so far he has collected about 7 billion VND with this money he has also built 135 houses of love, granted more than 500 scholarships to students. poor, helping 600 wheelchairs and 100 wheelchairs for people with disabilities in many provinces. Besides, every Friday, he together with his parish organizes cooking for about 100 people with difficult circumstances and disabilities. In addition, he has also helped open eyes for more than 5,000 elderly people, introduced more than 400 cases of heart surgery, and directly donated money for heart surgery for more than 20 cases.
