Hoang Quoc Viet, born Ha Ba Cang, is a Vietnamese politician, holding the role of Secretary of the Viet Minh General Department, President of the General Trade Union of Vietnam, and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Fatherland Front. Vietnam, Procurator General of the Supreme People's Procuracy, and Secretary of the Tonkin Trial Committee.
Since 1925, he began to participate in revolutionary movements, working with Ngo Gia Tu and Nguyen Duc Canh. . In 1925, he was in his third year at the School of Practical Engineering at Hai Phong, he participated in the awarding ceremony and protest against the colonial government's death sentence of revolutionary activist Boi Chau. He was expelled from school, then he went to Phan Me mine in Thai Nguyen to work as a cold worker, then worked at Mao Khe mine in Quang Yen, then worked at Carong Mechanical Factory in Hai Phong. In 1928, he joined the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association. In 1929, he was fired from the factory, then was sent to Cochinchina for secret revolutionary activities.
In 1930, he was elected a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam. He was once captured by the French colonialists, sentenced to life in prison with Le Duan, Nguyen Van Cu, Pham Van Dong... but was released in 1936. After being released, he returned to Hanoi to do revolutionary activities. , along with some comrades to restore the Party organization, and organize the revolution in Tonkin, launched demonstrations for the right to freedom and democracy.
In 1937, he was appointed as the Secretary of the Party Committee of Tonkin. The following year, he was expelled from Hanoi by the government, so he returned to Bac Ninh and Bac Giang active. In 1941, he attended the VIII Conference of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Ho Chi Minh , was elected a member of the Central Executive Committee, then was appointed a Standing Member of the Central Committee. He led the August General Uprising, then was sent to the South to operate.
In 1951, he was elected to the Central Committee of the Party and the Politburo at the Second Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. He used to hold the position of Chairman of the General Trade Union of Vietnam. In the campaign to correct mistakes after the "Land Reform" case, he was the pilot School Steering Committee at Thai Nguyen province so was expelled from the Politburo of the Vietnam Workers' Party.
In 1960, he was appointed as the Chief Procurator of the Supreme People's Procuracy, present in the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. He was elected to the Central Committee at the IV Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. After that, he held many important positions in the Party such as: Chairman of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, a member of the V-V to VIII National Assembly, Honorary Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. He passed away on December 25, 1992, his body was entombed at Mai Dich Cemetery at Hanoi city.
Hoang Quoc Viet has published a number of literary works such as the memoir "Hot Road" published in 1985, the memoir "The road following Uncle Ho" published in 1990.
