Kim Jong-nam is the eldest son of former leader of North Korea Kim Jong-il, is the brother of the leader of North Korea, Chairman Kim Jong-un.
From 1998-2001, Kim Jong-nam was considered a bright successor to former North Korean leader Kim Jong-il and was expected to become the next leader of North Korea. However, after Kim Jong-nam secretly went to Japan with a fake passport to visit Disneyland Tokyo was discovered, his father no longer trusted him. And then his younger brother, Kim Jong-un, became the heir.
On February 13, 2017, Kim Jong-nam was poisoned and died at Kuala Lumpur airport in Malaysia. Kim Jong-nam's death sparked rumors that he was shot by North Korean agents. Specifically, Kim Jong-nam is said to have used the passport of a North Korean named Kim Chol and was murdered at an airport in Malaysia. Currently, Malaysian authorities have refused to hand over the body to North Korea and announced that it will only hand over the body when the victim's relatives come to receive the body.
In the evening of February 20, son Kim Jong-nam's son, Kim Han-sol, 21 years old, was on an AirAsia flight from Macau to Kuala Lumpur. Malaysian police officer Han-sol arrived at KLIA2 airport and was escorted by the authorities through a special gate of the airport. Kim Han-sol was supposed to go to the Kuala Lumpur hospital morgue to confirm his father's identity, however this morning many reporters waited for a long time at the door of the morgue but still no sign of Han- sol.
