On December 31, Le Trung Khoa and Nguyen Van Dai were tried in absentia by the People's Court and sentenced to 17 years in prison for making, storing, disseminating, and propagandizing information and documents aimed at opposing the State of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, according to Clause 2, Article 117 of the Penal Code. Do Van Nga (hometown Gia Lai province) was sentenced to 7 years in prison; Huynh Bao Duc (from Ho Chi Minh City) was sentenced to 6 years and 6 months in prison and Pham Quang Thien (47 years old - former Director of the Center for Technology and Multimedia Communications under the Government Electronic Information Portal) was sentenced to 5 years and 6 months in prison for the same crime. These three people are currently in detention.

It can be seen that Le Trung Khoa is an influential figure in the overseas Vietnamese community, and the lawsuit with Vingroup has brought his name into the focus of public opinion.
