Also known as "The Beast", he is a rugby player who became a prolific scorer on the New Zealand Warriors in the National Rugby League. In 2008, he led New Zealand New Zealand to the first Rugby League World Cup victory in the team's history.
In 2015, he became the first player to score 10 or more tries in 10 consecutive seasons since the Australian competition (later renamed NRL) started in 1908. The third player appeared in more than 200 NRL games for the Warriors and he set the record for most attempts to score for both the Warriors and New Zealand.

Of Tongan heritage, he was born in Auckland, New Zealand and played for Scorpions Otara and Leopards Otahuhu at club level in Auckland. Educated by Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate, he joined the growing squad of warriors at the age of 16.
He married his longtime friend Jennifer Ka in 2010. He and Jen have three daughters, Makayla, Savannah and Eva.
