Best known for her role as Kim Kaswell on the Lifetime channel Drop Dead Diva, she is also known for her series regular role as Veronica Carter on the UPN legal drama series Kevin Hill. Also a stage performer, she received a Tony Award nomination for her role as Peggy Sawyer in the early 2000s Broadway revival of the musical 42nd Street.
She and Mira Sorvino both starred in the 2009 independent film Like Dandelion Dust.
