At the National Billiards & Snooker Championship 2011 taking place in Buon Ma Thuot, Ma Minh Cam won the championship in the men's singles carom singles event, after overcoming rival Nguyen Thanh Long (Da Nang) with a pretty convincing score of 100/61 after 23 turns. 2011 SEA Games, the first time he competed in the regional arena, Ma Minh Cam won the gold medal unexpectedly but also very convincingly.
Consecutively in 2012 and 2013, Ma Minh Cam won the single-band carom championship.

At the age of 19, Ma Minh Cam quit her studies and applied for a job as a taxi driver at Tan Son Nhat airport.
