Ly Tu Trong's birth name is Le Huu Trong from Thach Minh, Thach Ha, Ha Tinh. But he was born in Ban May, Nakhon, Thailand.
Ly Tu Trong's parents are overseas Vietnamese living in Nakhon province, Thailand. In the past, his original family name was Le Huu, when he came to life, he changed it to Le Van. His father's name is Le Huu Dat, and his mother's name is Nguyen Thi Som, who gave birth to many children.
In 1923, Ly Tu Trong was allowed to study in China when he was 10 years old, and Ly Tu Trong joined the Revolutionary Youth Union. Ly Tu Trong returned home to establish the Indochinese Communist Youth League in 1926 and he worked as a messenger for the Cochinchina Party Committee to the Communist Party of Vietnam.
While a meeting was taking place to celebrate a Five Yen Bai uprisings are being held in Saigon on February 9, 1931. When the secret agent came to suppress, Ly Tu Trong shot and killed the secret agent Le Grand to protect Phan Boi who was giving a speech. Then on November 20, 1931, he was arrested and sentenced to death when he was only 17 years old. This incident has aroused the strong will of the youth, young people as well as people in Kham Lon so that the prison guards respected him and called him "Mr Little".
His name was later. His work was named for an award from the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
