Ngo Nhi Nham, also known as Thùy Thới Nhiem, formerly Hy Doan, alias Dat Hien, was a famous poet and writer of the late Le - Tay Son dynasties, who had great merits in assisting the Tay Son dynasty to repel the Qing army.

In 1788, Nguyen Hue went to the North for the second time, sent orders to invite talents. , looking for mandarins of the old dynasty. The famous Bac Ha followed each other to join the Tay Son Dynasty, it was only Ngo Van So, Dang Tien Dong and Tran Van Ky. In the old history it is recorded that, when Ngo Thi Nham became a mandarin for the Tay Son dynasty, Nguyen Hue was overjoyed and said, "It's true that heaven has saved you for me", then named him Ta Thi Lang Bo Lai. When King Gia Long destroyed the Tay Son Dynasty, he and some Tay Son officials such as Phan Huy Ich, Nguyen The Lich, was beaten at Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam in 1803. But because he had a conflict with Dang Tran Thuong before that, he was beaten with a cane laced with poison. After the beating, he died from poisoning when he returned home.
