In 1948, Van Chung studied classical music with musician Bay Quoi, then he was introduced by musician Bay Quoi into the Vietnam Ancient Musical Union by singer Tam Thuoc of Phap A Radio. His voice made many viewers excited every time it was broadcast on the radio, especially after artist Van Chung married artist Thanh Huong, making him even more famous. He and artist Thanh Huong were invited by many record labels of Pathé, Asia, and Hoanh Son to record many sets of tuong and Vong Co records. At that time, artist Van Chung was famous through the disc set "Vo Dong So Bach Thu Ha" recorded by Pathé record label. Later, he was accepted by the manager Nam Chau to join the Nam Chau troupe and performed in the Vietnamese Opera Theater. plays such as:
