Initially, Big Bang was formed by YG Entertainment with 6 members, but So-1 left the group due to not being ready. Big Bang officially debuted on August 19, 2006 with 5 members at the YG Family concert (10th anniversary of the establishment of YG Entertainment) at Olympic Park stadium.
Big Bang's debut single was released on August 29, 2006. Along with this single, YG Entertainment also included a DVD with 10 chapters on the process of recruiting and training Big Bang members.

  • A Danish newspaper challenges taboos against illustrations of Muhammad by printing several negative cartoons depicting him.
