Daesung, whose real name is Kang Dae Sung, is a South Korean singer and actor. He is a member of the group Big Bang since 2006.
Daesung's first solo single is titled "Daesung". "Useo Bonda". In 2008, he released the trot song "Look at Me, Gwisun". He was then accepted into the Postmodern Music Department of Kyung Hee University. He also started to try himself as a presenter on the music show Show! Music Core of MBC channel. In early 2009, he released his second trot song "Daebakiya". He planned to appear with Seungri in the musical "Shouting" but he was in a car accident hospitalized before this plan could be implemented. In 2010, he released the song "Cotton Candy" at Big Bang's 2010 Big Show. Not long after, he starred in the MBC drama "What's Up". In 2013, Daesung released his first album called D'scover. This is a Japanese album of 12 songs, most of which are covers of songs by Japanese artists and some of his solo songs. "D'scover" quickly climbed to number two on the Oricon Daily album chart on the day of its release and peaked at number two on the Oricon Weekly Album Chart.
