He graduated as an electrical engineer from Kiev Polytechnic University in Ukraine. He used to be a very close associate of businessman Nguyen Dang Quang - chairman of Masan company.
In 1987, Mr. Hung Anh was admitted to the 22nd Engineer training course at the Military Technical Academy. During his studies, he achieved excellent results and was honored to be selected by the Ministry of Defense to study military engineering in the Soviet Union. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, he moved to Ukraine to study electronic engineering at Kiev Polytechnic University. Mr. Ho Hung Anh started his business in the Russian Federation. During the period from June 1994 - March 1997, he held the position of Director of SANMEX Company of the Russian Federation. From March 1997 - June 2004, he was General Director of MASAN RUS TRADING Company in the Russian Federation. In May 2008, he was appointed to the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank - Techcombank. Since taking the position of Chairman of Techcombank, he has increased the bank's profits, which helped him enter Forbes magazine's list of 5 Vietnamese billionaires in February 2019.
From proactive leadership thinking, Mr. Ho Hung Anh has brought Techcombank to rapid development. After more than 10 years of leadership, he helped Techcombank become the first private bank in Vietnam to achieve after-tax profits of up to 10, 000 billion VND. As of 2018, the pre-tax profit this bank achieved was 10, 661 billion VND. This growth rate increased by 86% compared to 201, bringing Techcombank ranked 2nd in the banking system in Vietnam, second only to Vietcombank. It was that rapid growth that helped Techcombank officially list on the stock exchange. This development process also helped the bank mobilize 923 million USD, the second highest of the year after Vinhomes' IPO with 1.34 billion USD in revenue.
