He attended the military Valley Forge Academy, a college in Pennsylvania, as well as Johns Hopkins University. He later became a Rhode Scholar at Oxford University. He started his career in finance but chose to become a paratrooper for the US Army's 82nd Division in Afghanistan in 2005. He then became a White House member for a year upon his return. before returning to New York City and a career in finance.
His father Westley was a journalist and broadcaster. His mother Joy is from Lowe River, Jamaica. When Moore was three years old, he witnessed the death of his father. He and his mother moved from Baltimore to the Bronx. He married Dawn and they had two children, olderdaughter Mia and son James. They moved to Baltimore from New York City.
