Forerunner of BMW BMW is Rapp Motorenwerke, then changed its name to BMW GmbH (BMW Co., Ltd.) in April 1917.1 the following year, this company changed its name to BMW AG (Company). BMW shares). TBMW started producing cars in 1928 when they acquired Fahrzeugfabrik Eisenach Company (Eisenach Car Factory).
