In a losing game that led to a lot of debt, he hummed and composed the song "Xam Gray Obstacle" to advise gamblers to avoid dangerous pleasures. Unexpectedly, his song was then recorded and released by Wave Music label, which sold well in all regions.
In 1983, Tung Lam returned to work as a Vice President of the Congregation of Literature Hau Giang, in 1992, he retired.
